Paul Dorfman: Nuclear Consulting Group

In the debate about nuclear power, reference is sometimes made to articles from a source called the nuclear consulting group [1].

NCG was founded by Paul Dorfman in 2007, as stated in his bio on LinkedIn [2]. On the surface, one would assume that it sounds professional and, therefore, trustworthy.

But if you scroll down on the organization or read Dorfman’s LinkedIn bio, Greenpeace appears to support the organization.

Greenpeace, as we know, has a long history of spreading anti-scientific misinformation about nuclear power and many other topics. Greenpeace does not refrain from committing burglaries either. Such as breaking into a French nuclear power plant [3].

In 2020, Dr. received  Paul Dorfman and the Nuclear consulting group £10,000 from the Greenpeace Environmental Trust to influence UK and pan-EU policy away from nuclear power [4].

The Greenpeace Environmental Trust 2020 report and annual accounts state this is a two-year award, so funding will likely continue into 2021.

It also appears that Greenpeace supports other disinformation organizations.

Dorfman has given their propaganda center an official-sounding name so that politicians and journalists think they are unbiased experts. It’s a classic trick of anti-nuclear power activists. To wrap it up.
