Anti-nuclear parties in parliaments
Research shows that the presence of anti-nuclear parties in a given country’s parliament results in longer construction times. The research suggests why we see this correlation is that these parties oppose the construction of works and thus delay the process [1]. The same parties are often the ones who use time and price as arguments against the introduction of nuclear power in energy policy.
Reactor type selection
Projects can experience delays when choosing so-called first-of-a-kind reactor designs, completely new tested prototypes.
